Here was Ryan’s explanation of how he got the Random Hero nickname in an interview back in 2005:
“I don’t know who said it…I think it was…who was it? O’Connor! I think it was O’Connor who said it. We were in the editing bay. This is years ago. We were trying to edit something down and we got to the point where we didn’t have enough footage to fit this slot and we’re like “dude, we gotta fit something in here.” And we were like, “Go in the kitchen and throw some pots and pans” or “Hey, film me pooping!” So that’s when I ran upstairs and jumped off the roof and then that’s when he’s like “He’s a fuckin’ random hero.” I believe that’s the story. Tim O’Connor. The skateboarder.”
